February 2007 - The AGM went off without a hitch and the committee have been re-elected. I announced my intention to re-vamp the web site this year. I will have to build my workshop first. Follow this link to view my progress..
December 2006 - Renewals are due at the end of the month and the notices have been sent out.
** We have also heard of the sudden death of our erstwhile Chairman, Mr Roger Jones. Roger was well known in the modelling community and had previously been on the BMFA list of speakers on modelling matters.
November 2006 - I have finally reinstalled my web editing software. For those who don't know I completed my BSc this year which took up most of my time. I have been maintaining the web site on behalf of Jenny and earlier this year my computer crashed and I lost the software. Here is a brief summary of what's been going on at the club:
- September 2006 - The club was given permission by the land holder in March to extend the flying site to the east so as to compensate for the trees which are growing along the western edge. This means that the runway will be a little longer. The area was marked out and sown with grass before the Autumn weather set in. It should be ready for late summer next year.
- April 2006 - A number of us took part in a Jet Experience Day at Paul Heckles School of Flying, We were given a talk by Dick Spreadbury, one of the leading authorities on miniature gas turbines and widely published author and journalist. In the afternoon, we all took turns flying the Boomerang Intro Jets Trainer. I hope to provide more details soon.
